Getting started

What is CBRE Publications?

The CBRE APAC Creative COE digital publication platform — the replacement for ISSUU.

CBRE Publications hosts the region’s brochures, research reports, newsletters and marketing documents as page-flip digital publications — readable in any browser, on any device, with no app or account needed for public documents.

It replaces ISSUU. Published documents included in the migration retain their original publish dates and public or unlisted visibility. Unpublished drafts and later uploads need a separate migration check.

MIGRATION STATUS

The platform currently runs on a temporary domain while it is being migrated into the CBRE internal ecosystem (Azure, managed by CBRE D&T). Links keep working during the transition; final internal URLs will be announced when the migration completes.

Browsing the library

Workspace shelves, category filters, sorting and library search on the home page.

The home page is the public library: every published, public document across all workspaces.

  • Workspace chips filter the shelf to one team’s publications (CBRE APAC, CBRE Japan, CBRE Southeast Asia…).
  • Category chips narrow by content type — Research & Reports, Marketing & Brochures, Case Studies, Guides & Playbooks, Newsletters and Events.
  • Sort by newest first, oldest first, or title A–Z.
  • Previous / Next browse 48 publications at a time. Your workspace, category, sort and search stay selected when you change pages.
  • Search the library matches titles and descriptions.

Unlisted publications never appear on the shelf — they are reachable only by direct link. Private publications additionally require the owner, a workspace member or an administrator to sign in.

Opening a publication

Reader URLs, deep-linking to a page, and what loads when.

Every publication lives at a stable address: /p/<slug>. Share that URL and the reader opens at page one.

Add ?page=12 to open at a specific page — useful for pointing someone at one article inside a long newsletter. The same parameter works on embeds.

The reader

Zoom & fullscreen

Double-click to magnify the spread; a zoom overlay for close reading; F for fullscreen.

  • Double-click the page to magnify the stage for a closer look; double-click again to reset.
  • The zoom control opens a pannable close-up overlay for fine print.
  • F (or the control-bar button) enters fullscreen — the flipbook fills the whole screen.

Thumbnails

A visual rail of every page for jumping around long documents.

Press T or use the control-bar button to open the thumbnail rail — a scrollable strip of every page. Click any thumbnail to jump straight there. The current page stays highlighted.

Search inside a document

Full-text search across every page of the open publication.

Press / or open the search panel to search the full text of the open publication. Results list every matching page with a snippet; click a result to flip straight to that page.

This works because the text of every page is extracted at upload time — including for documents that were originally designed in InDesign with complex layouts.

Reader themes & page-turn speed

Four backdrop themes and three turn speeds, remembered per browser.

Open Settings in the control bar to restyle the reading room:

  • Themes — CBRE Green (default), Charcoal, Sage, or Celadon. The light themes flip the control chrome to match.
  • Page-turn speed — Relaxed, Standard, or Snappy.

Choices are saved in your browser and apply to every publication you open.

Sharing & embedding

Embedding on a website

A copy-paste iframe snippet puts the full flipbook on any web page.

The share dialog includes a ready-made embed snippet:

<iframe src="…/embed/<slug>" width="100%" height="600" style="border:0" allowfullscreen loading="lazy"></iframe>

  • The embed view is the full reader — flipping, zoom, search and links all work inside the iframe.
  • It adapts to the iframe’s size: wide frames get spreads, narrow or portrait frames get single pages.
  • ?page=N on the embed URL opens at that page.

If you embed a publication anywhere, tell the Creative COE where — embeds must be repointed when the platform moves to its final internal home.

Visibility levels

Public, Unlisted, Password and Private — who can see what.

  • Public — listed in the library and readable by anyone.
  • Unlisted — readable by anyone with the direct link, but never shown in the library or search.
  • Password — the reader asks for a password before showing any pages.
  • Private — only the owner, signed-in members of the publication’s workspace and admins can open it.

Password-protected publications

How the password gate works for readers.

Opening a password-protected publication shows an unlock screen instead of the book. Enter the password once and the reader remembers access in that browser for up to 12 hours. You may need to unlock again in an embedded view if the browser blocks third-party cookies.

Passwords are set (and can be changed) by the publishing team in the studio; changing the password re-locks the document for everyone.

Studio — publishing

Signing in to the studio

Accounts are created by admins; sign-in and password reset live at /login.

The studio (/studio) is where the Creative COE team publishes and manages documents. Public sign-up is disabled — accounts are created by studio admins.

  • Sign in at /login with your email and password.
  • Forgot your password? The sign-in page emails you a reset link.
  • Change your password any time under Account in the studio navigation; it is also available on mobile.

What you see in the studio is scoped to your workspaces — you manage your team’s publications, not everyone’s.

Uploading a publication

Drop a PDF; pages, searchable text and clickable links are generated automatically.

In Studio → Upload, drop the final PDF (up to 500 MB). The wizard renders every page in your browser — nothing to install, and even very large InDesign exports keep their exact appearance.

Automatically generated for every upload:

  • High-resolution page images and thumbnails for the flipbook.
  • Searchable text for every page.
  • Clickable hotspots for the PDF’s hyperlinks — including URLs that appear as plain text.

Then choose the workspace, title, category, tags, description and visibility. Publications can sit in draft until you publish.

Managing a publication

Edit details, change visibility, replace the PDF, configure videos, unpublish or delete.

Open any publication from the Studio dashboard (searchable and filterable by status) to:

  • Edit title, description, category and tags. The first publication time is recorded when you publish.
  • Change visibility (public / unlisted / password / private) or set a password.
  • Toggle Allow download of the original PDF.
  • Choose how each video link plays — inline on the page, as a popup or in a new tab.
  • Replace the PDF — the reader link, visibility and analytics stay. Existing pages remain available until the replacement finishes; failures leave the previous version intact. Video display modes reset after a successful replacement.
  • Unpublish (return to draft and keep content and analytics) or delete the publication.

Workspaces

Team shelves that scope both the public library and studio access.

New publications must belong to a workspace (CBRE APAC, CBRE Japan, CBRE Southeast Asia, the MarComms archives…). Workspaces drive two things:

  • The public library — workspace chips let readers browse one team’s shelf.
  • Studio access — editors manage publications they own or whose workspace they belong to. Admins can manage every workspace. Some migrated records have no workspace; their owner or an admin can assign one.

Users & roles

Admins create accounts and assign workspaces; editors publish within their workspaces.

  • Editors upload and manage publications in their assigned workspaces and see analytics for them.
  • Admins additionally manage users (create accounts, set roles, assign workspaces) and see everything across all workspaces.

Admins manage all of this under Studio → Users.

Studio — analytics

Per-publication analytics

Views, readers, read depth, page reach, dwell time, countries, referrers, devices, link clicks and video plays.

Every publication has its own analytics page in the studio:

  • Views & unique readers, with a day-by-day trend.
  • Read depth — how far into the document readers get, on average.
  • Page reach — how many readers saw each page.
  • Time per page — where readers actually dwell.
  • Countries, referrers (which sites send readers) and devices.
  • Link clicks and video plays — which links inside the document get used, per page.
  • Downloads and completions.

Platform & workspace analytics

The overall dashboard: totals, trends, top publications and workspace breakdowns.

Studio → Analytics aggregates publications you can manage and can be scoped to a workspace. The 30-day, 90-day and all-time controls apply to totals and top publications. The daily chart shows the last 90 days when all time is selected. Workspace, country, referrer and device breakdowns show all-time data.

Exporting a report

Print-optimised analytics pages: export to PDF from the print dialog.

Every analytics page has an Export button that opens the print dialog with a clean, print-optimised layout — choose “Save as PDF” to share the report.

How tracking works

Pseudonymous session counts, reading events and referral details.

Reader analytics use a pseudonymous session ID to count readers. Events record page numbers, reading time, country when provided by the network edge, device class, referrer host and path, and clicked link or video URLs. Names and studio account IDs are not attached to reading events, but URLs may contain identifying information. Counts are indicative and can be affected by blocked tracking or repeated requests.

Good to know

Supported files & limits

PDF in, flipbook out — up to 500 MB per document.

  • Uploads are PDF only — export from InDesign, PowerPoint or Word as PDF first.
  • Up to 500 MB and 5,000 pages per file; large documents need sufficient browser memory and a reliable connection.
  • JPEG-2000 imagery and ICC colour profiles (common in InDesign exports) are rendered correctly.

Browser & device support

Any modern browser, desktop or mobile; no plugins or apps.

The reader works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox, on desktop and mobile. Phones get a single-page view with the same search, links and videos; no app or plugin is ever required.

Coming from ISSUU

What carried over, and what to update on your side.

  • Published publications included in the ISSUU migration were copied with their original publish dates and visibility (public / unlisted). Unpublished ISSUU drafts were excluded; confirm any publications added after the migration cutoff with the Creative COE.
  • ISSUU links and embeds do not redirect automatically: update them to this platform’s links.
  • If your team owns a page that still embeds an ISSUU document, contact the Creative COE for the replacement embed code.
